In 1998, our company completed its second, larger dry-dock offering a 6,500 DWT capacity, 94 feet (28.7m) between the wingwalls, which can handle vessels up to 400 feet (121.9m) in length. The construction of our second dry-dock has opened up many new opportunities for us. It has enabled us to assist in the conversion of the MV Hamilton Transfer and to service the Algonova, part of the Algoma Central Marine Fleet, as well as many other vessels, We are now a full service ship repair yard, providing expert, on time and on budget repair services to all types and various sizes of vessels in the marine industry.
Our facility is located on land leased from the Hamilton Port Authority. The site has 160,000 square feet of land, 1,000 feet of wharfage and dock frontage, 30,500 square feet of fabrication shop and 5,000 square feet of machine shop.
Our company is continually expanding to meet the demands of our present customers and accommodate new customers. A third dry-dock, the same size as the second is now under construction and will allow us to begin repairing the largest lake freighters allowed on the Great Lakes.
